Mexican Vanilla is the "original Vanilla". The only place in the world where it grows naturally is in the Veracruz region of Papantla, where the Melipona Bee is the exclusive pollinator of its flower. After Saffron, it's the second most expensive spice in the world and it has been cultivated for millennia by Totonacs, Aztecs and Mayans for making offerings to their Gods, and to flavour Chocolate.

It takes 18 months to cultivate Vanilla, from pollination to ready-to-pack pods. The intense, charming aroma is still generated exclusively by solar and aerial drying in Papantla, once called "The City that Perfumes the World".
